Prince of players

Star: Richard Burton
Works: his movies titles
Words: I see, see, as :-

Friends, fellow readers, lend me your ears,

To hear me praise, Richard Burton;
One of THE V.I.P.s. of Shakespearean actors,
Who was born in poverty in Wales.
For Richard Burton was blessed with
Virile, vibrant good looks, distinct voice and
An inimitable ability to give unparalleled
Performances of the Bard’s plays; a PRINCE OF PLAYERS.
 From superb struts on the stage, catapulted to celebrity status
 When he romanced superstar Elizabeth Taylor.
For Richard Burton, was the VILLAIN of her
Break up to Eddie Fisher. On the sets of
CLEOPATRA where she played the title role and he, Mark Anthony,
Emulated their characters and did WHERE EAGLES DARE,
Ignoring THE GATHERING STORM from
Spouses, families and public condemnations
To let their magical LOVESPELL brewed.
DIVORCE HIS, DIVORCE HERS; saw them married in 1964.
 For Richard Burton, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW was a tough job;
 He was to divorce, remarried again,
To Elizabeth Taylor before finally calling it quits in 1976.
Their CIRCLE OF TWO broke up when they both married another.
1984, particularly, poignant and prophetic;
Title of his last film; the year he died prematurely at 58.
Did he LOOK BACK IN ANGER of salad days of
Extravagant living which later green in judgment
Took  on films that sank him?
Indulgences in wine, women and smoke that
Spelt  setbacks in marriages, career and health?
His BITTER VICTORY of unbuttoned, unbridled criticisms of
Establishment; THE MEDUSA TOUCH to his eight Oscars nominations?
For Richard Burton, splendid Shakespearean star of stage;
On the brink of BREAKTHRU to the sphere of super stardom,
Alas, sadly, his candle burned out.
Remembered not, his BURNING CROSS of scandals, marriages
And divorces for sans doubt, his heart and name lied buried,
Forever linked to superstar wife, Elizabeth Taylor.
Remembered not, his flop in films,
For Richard Burton, was the finest Shakespearean actor of his era.
